PC048 - The High Cost of Inflation

“It’s the economy, stupid!” How many times have you heard someone you know make that statement – especially since the pandemic? Over the last two years, it seems like inflation and the economy are all we talk about. From the cost of food continuously increasing to gas prices soaring near record highs, it’s getting quite expensive to live in the Land of the Free. In fact, for millions of people across the country, it’s even getting too expensive to fill their tanks so they can go to work.

And what is our government doing about it? Increasing the benchmark interest rate.

This week, I discuss how the economy is impacting every American. I discuss how the cost of everyday essentials – like beef, produce, housing, and gas – continues to rise despite American voters pleading for help. I discuss the recent benchmark interest rate increase that the FEDs recently announced and how many Americans across the country are struggling to get the bare minimums to survive. I share my thoughts on what the economy will look like by the end of 2022 and why I believe layoffs will inevitably increase. I discuss how the Democratic party is redirecting our attention away from the economic crisis by focusing on less critical bills and movements. I also share why I believe Americans have the power to change the trajectory of the economy by participating in the mid-term elections and casting their vote for a brighter future.

“The economy is in the tank. We need leaders to do something about it. And, currently, one-party rule is killing all of us.” - Jennifer Nassour
