PC033 Political Contessa All the Gains Women Have Fought For Are Being Destroyed

I’m a republican, but I’m a libertarian when it comes to social issues. That’s why the part of the Lia Thomas controversy that bothers me is not Lia’s decision to transition. I have a deep appreciation for the struggles she has faced. However, as a biological man, she has undeniably made it harder for the women who worked so hard to compete in professional sports.

Today, I talk about Lia Thomas and why her competition and victory in the NCAA swimming championship is troubling. I posit that trangender women are still biological men, and for this reason they should compete with other biological men when it comes to professional sports. I list the ways that women pay when biological men compete against them in sports, and I push to eradicate loopholes that leave women behind yet again.

“We are just setting women back so far. And as a mom of girls, I want to give them every single opportunity that they could possibly have.”
